Ironwood Dance Company’s 15th Annual Spring Dance Recital to be held at the Historical Ironwood Theatre on Thursday, June 7, Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9 at 6:30 pm.

Tickets are sold at the Ironwood Theatre office Wednesday-Friday from 12:00 to 4:30 pm.

•Tap 2 will have class 5:45-7 for 4 weeks (4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16)
•Tap 4 will stay for an extra 1/2 hr for 4 unspecified weeks (will mark on time sheet when we stay)
•Hip hop 5 will stay 15 min extra for 4 weeks or 1/2 hour for 2(time sheet)
•Funk 4 will stay extra 15 minutes for 4 weeks, 1/2 hr for 1
•Funk 1 Saturday, May 26th 10-11
•Funk 3 Saturday, May 19th 11:15-12:15  AND Saturday, May 26th 11-12

  Dance Magic Results 

Ironwood Dance Company dancers attended the Dance Magic Talent Competition” on Sunday, May 6th at the Wausau East High School Auditorium, Wausau, Wi. 

 Dancers competed against 17 other studios and independent dancers from Wausau, Green Bay, Park Falls, Shawano, Medford, Stevens Point, Ashland, Eau Claire, Minocqua, Mosinee Schofield, Little Chute and Appleton.  Our dancers did a fantastic job, said Margaret Grachek, IDC Director.  They had some hard competition!

 Awards were given out on a point system with 140.4 & under points earned a Silver, 140.5-144.4 points earned a Gold, 144.5-146.5 points earned a High Gold and 146.6-150 points a Platinum.

Team results were as following:

Hip Hop/LargeGroup – 1st Place/Gold – Dancing to “Good Feeling” coached and choreographed by Joan Movrich.  Team members are Abby Ahonen, Breanna Aijala, Jamee Bastman, Madisen Jacobson, Alexa Jilek, Kelsey Kitto, Cortney Makolondra, Taylor Manchester, Marissa Massi, Maggie Meyer, Brittany Stella, Alexandria Wolfe, Hope Worthington and Paityn Santini.

Lyrical/Small Group – 2nd Place/Gold – Dancing to “Ashes to Wine” coached and choreographed by Cheyenne O’Brien.  Team members are Amber Allen, Hannah Douglass-Grotberg, Aubre Hoeft, Alexa Jilek, Maggie Meyer, MiKayla Piehl, Valerie Rowe, Christine Simmons and Emma Tervonen.

Ballet/Small Group – 1st Place/Gold - Dancing to “Run Free” coached and choreographed by Cheyenne O’Brien.  Team members are Hannah Douglass-Grotberg, Rachel Fedora, Paige Gwyn, Brittany Heckathorn, Carissa Mattson, Maggie Meyer, Brittany Shields and Emma Tervonen.

Open/ Small Group - 1st Place/High Gold – Dancing to “Werewolf” coached and choreographed by Cheyenne O'Brien.  Team members are Danielle Begalle, Brenna Bogaczyk, Adrienne Fedora, Rachel Fedora, Brittany Heckathorn, Darian Jokela, Kate Karling, Aleah Maki, Anna Schroeter and Crystal Sutherland.

 Ballet/Small Group – 1st Place/Gold – Dancing to “Wild Child” coached and choreographed by Tiffany Erickson.   Team members are Danielle Begalle, Bethany Engel, Adienne Fedora, Kate Karling, Emma Lackman, MiKayle Piehl, Cherokee Rice, Anna Schroeter and Crystal Sutherland.

 Hip Hop/Small Group – 1^st Place/Gold – Dancing to “First of the Year” coached by Bethany Hellen, choreographed by Bethany and dancers.  Team members are Kaitlyn Carpenedo, Haley Jacobson, Darian Jokela, Christine Simmons, Crystal Sutherland, Savana Swanson and Alyssa Williams.

Jazz/Small Group – 3rd Place/Gold – Dancing to “All That Jazz” coached and choreographed by Tiffany Erickson.  Team members are Danielle Begalle, Brenna Bogaczyk, Brittany Heckathorn, Darian Jokela, Anna Schroeter and Emma Tervonen.

Lyrical/Small Group – 2nd Place/Platinum – Dancing to “Hallelujah” coached and choreographed by Cheyenne O'Brien.  Team members are Danielle Begalle, Brenna Bogaczyk, Adrienne Fedora, Darian Jokela, Anna Schroeter and Crystal Sutherland.

Solo/Duet results were:

Lyrical/Duet – 1st Place/Silver – Dancing to “Paradise” danced and choreographed by Kia Movrich and Hannah Cormier.

Judges Special Awards went to:

Outstanding Dancers:  Anna Schroeter and Brenna Bogaczyk

High Score/ Small Group - Senior Division: Hallelujah

IDC Dancers compete in Duluth, MN    

Five Dance Teams from the Ironwood Dance Company attended “The Ultimate Talent Connection’s Spring Fling Dance and Twirling Competition 2012” on Saturday, March 17 at the Marshall School, Duluth, MN. 

“Each dancer has the opportunity to stretch themselves and measure their dance skills against other dancers from throughout the Upper Midwest.  This is how dancers grow and improve and I am excited and pleased with the results,” said Margret Grachek, IDC Director.  “We’ve been a part of the T. U.T.C for many years and the girls carried the Ironwood Dance Banner well.  Special thanks to each of the coaches and instructors who took the extra time to work with their students in order to prepare for the competition.  Well done.” 

IDC’s next competition is Dance Magic in Wausau, Wi on Sunday May 6, 2012.  The annual spring Recital is scheduled for June 7, 8 & 9 at 6:30 PM at the Historic Ironwood Theatre 

Awards were given out in Recreational and Competitive divisions.  The Competitive division was on a point system.  Dancers earning 225-250 points a Silver, 250-275 points a Gold and 275-300 points a Platinum.
