We are
currently in the process of implementing a new on-line registration and
payment system.
Registration:
A non-refundable fee of $10.00 per NEW student is required at time of
registration.
Class
Schedule: All class space will be on a first come, first paid basis. Please
sign up on-line or return your
registration form with correct payment early to help ensure placement in your
desired class. This schedule is subject to change based upon
facility availability and a minimum number per class. Children are
grouped by age and ability level.
Registration must be updated and
filled out completely and the tuition fee paid before the class
begins. If not, your child will not be able to
participate. Please don’t disappoint your child and have them sit
out a class because their registration form is not filled out or their
tuition isn’t paid. Classes will be canceled or
consolidated (two class sections condensed into one) if minimum number
is not met.
Tuition Schedule:
For your convenience, we offer you three ways to pay for classes;
Annual and Semester, both payable in full at the time of registration,
or make 9 equal Monthly installments. Full payment must be received
prior to each session to receive the annual and semester discount
rates. No exceptions. The 2012/2013 season runs September 10
through June 8 with rehearsals for the annual spring recital on Tuesday,
June 4 and Wednesday, June 5 at the Historic Ironwood Theatre. The
annual spring recital performances are Thursday, June 6, Friday, June 7
and Saturday, June 8 at the Historic Ironwood Theatre starting at 6:30
pm.

receive a 10 percent discount.
2. Semester Tuition is paid in full for the entire semester
(September 2012 - December 2012) and (January 2013 - June 8, 2013).

Monthly Tuition is paid in 9 equal monthly installments which are always
due before the first of each month. You may pay by
means of secure monthly auto-pay with a credit card, checking account,
savings account or a pre-paid credit card. Tuition will be debited
from your bank account or credit card on the 1st day of each month.
If payment is not received by the next statement posting date it is subject to a late fee of
$5.00. Payments need to be marked with the student’s name and
what it is for (tuition, dance wear, shoes, costume, etc.). If you
do not have a computer or internet access at home, both will be provided
for you in the studio lobby to make your payments and purchases.
If you do not have a credit or debit card you may purchase a prepaid
VISA from Walgreens or other retailers.
Withdrawal and
Refunds: One-month notice from the first of the month is
required to discontinue any class. Withdrawal must be done in
person and will not be accepted over the phone. Withdrawal must be
done at the studio office and not with the teacher. Withdrawal
must occur within the first 7 days of the month to stop payment for the
following month.
To withdraw from classes a parent or adult student must inform the
school administration in person. A cancellation fee of
$10.00 will be charged.
All automatic bank debiting or credit card charges will stop after the
one-month notice period. IDC reserves the right to terminate
lessons at any time to any students for any reason without prior notice. In such a case a refund
for unused lessons will be given. If the studio is not notified of
a student dropping a class, tuition will continue to be charged,
regardless of attendance, as the student's spot is being secured and
held in the class.
Ironwood Dance Company does not offer refunds or tuition deductions due
to absence or drop outs.
Conflict of
Interest: Students currently enrolled in our dance program may
not assist or teach for a competitive studio/school within a 35 mile
radius of IDC.
NSF
Payment Policy:
A $25.00 NSF fee will be charged for all returned checks. After one NSF check,
you will be expected to pay for classes with cash or money order.
All accounts more than 60 days past due will be turned over to an
outside agency for collections.
Dress Code/Appearance: A
dancer should always be properly dressed and groomed. It is
part of the self-discipline, which goes hand-in-hand with dance training
itself. Students MUST
wear the proper attire listed for their specific class. Failure to
wear required dancewear to class could result in students being asked to
sit out of the class. Plan ahead…repeated failure to wear required
dancewear could result in termination of class. Hair
MUST
be tied back out of the face.
Dancewear/Shoe fitting orders:
Students are asked to have their proper shoes/dancewear for each
class by their first class session. IDC sells
shoes/leotards/tights for your dance needs.
Monday, August 20 through Thursday,
August 23 from 3-7 PM has been set up for the shoe and dancewear fitting
order times at the dance studio located at 330 E. Ayer Street, Ironwood.
All orders must be paid in full when orders are placed. All orders
will include 6% Mi. sales tax.
Arrival/Departure: To
protect the safety of our students, IDC requires that they arrive and
depart as close to the scheduled class times as possible. Parents
are accepting the responsibility for their safety until their class
begins! We require all students be dropped or picked up within
5-10 minutes of their class time! We are not set up to provide
childcare!! Please let us know in advance if someone else is
picking up your child.
Snow or Bad Weather: When the Ironwood Public
Schools cancel classes or dismiss school early because of inclement
weather or icy roads, IDC will most likely cancel classes also.
However: Weather and roads are sometimes clear in the
evening, classes may still be held. Classes will be rescheduled at
a later date. Please check with local radio
stations or our website for any changes!! No refunds issued for
classes missed when they run as scheduled.
Talking In Class: Your child’s
class time is limited and valuable, talking or goofing around in class
is frowned upon. Instructors require the full attention of
ALL students.
Students are always encouraged to ask dance related questions of the instructor. General conversation should be before or after
class. IDC reserves the right to remove any person that we feel
is being disruptive to the dancers classroom experience.
Class Observation: Observation
time for parents to view their child’s class will be scheduled once a
month during the last 10 minutes of a class. It will be up to the
individual instructor on what day of the month she would like this to be
scheduled. We know you are excited to see how much your kids are
learning, however, parents & friends sitting through class is not
allowed, as it will disturb valuable practice time. Please keep
noise down in waiting area when a class is in session.
Lost & Found: Ironwood
Dance Company is not responsible for lost items. If you are
missing something, please check the lost and found box. Please put
your child’s name on all their dance items (in both shoes).
Recital Costumes:
All
classes require a costume for the annual spring recital. We spend
many hours determining the correct costumes for each class. They
are always age-appropriate and of the highest quality possible.
Preschool students will need one costume; all other students will need
one costume for each class they train in.
Costumes are
chosen in October and will need to be paid in full by Saturday, December
15, 2012.
Costume
Payments: In an effort to ensure that costumes are delivered in time for school
photographs, competitions and organized distribution to our students,
costume orders are placed during the December holiday break.
Costumes must be paid for, in full, prior to 12/15/12.
Costume manufacturers do not accept cancellations or offer refunds after
10 days of the order date; therefore IDC does not refund costume
deposits after original order has been placed. No exceptions!
*
Costume payments
are as follows
(each costume):
SIZE

Costumes will not be ordered until they are

for all expenses, including surcharges and postage for costumes ordered late. IDC is not responsible if costumes are not
received in time for the recital due to late payments. Most

Your

costume home.
Spring Recital Performance:
Dance is a performing art. Student productions not only give
dancers the thrill of performing, but also provide a strong sense of
accomplishment and a chance to showcase all their hard work and talents.
Dates are: Thursday, June 6th, Friday, June 7th and Saturday, June
8th, 2013. Your account needs to be paid up to date by Saturday,
June 1, 2013 or your child might not be allow to partake in the
rehearsals or the performances.
To Perform A Solo,
Duet and/or Trio for the Spring Recital: You must
be currently taking two classes, have good class attendance and take
at least two private lesson throughout the season. Only one
routine goes into the recital. Please indicate if you are
interested in private lessons. Indicate the dance type and teacher
you would like for your private lesson. Book your private lesson
through the studio office. 906/364-3221
Private Lessons: One hour
$30.00. Private lessons are not only just for students who
perform solos in the recital but also for students who are having difficulty
in class and who may need more structured practice time. They are also
for students who are serious about dance and desire to improve their technique
and abilities.
Parent Responsibility: It is the responsibility of the
parents and adult students to inform the studio of any email address,
mailing address or telephone number changes. IDC
produces several newsletters and flyers throughout the season.
They are loaded with lots of important information you will need to
know. Extra copies are always available in our lobby area.
In the event your child is absent, it is your responsibility to check
our website or the studio bulletin board for updated information.
Our monthly information
newsletters will be coming to you via e-mail. Please check your
e-mail on a regular basis.
Parent & Instructor Communication:
It is also very important for parents and instructors to keep lines of
communication open to ensure each student is getting the most out of
their learning experience. We genuinely appreciate your ideas and
comments. If you have a question or concern about a class, performance,
or anything related to your child's class, please go directly to the
instructor or studio director. What applies to your child may not
apply to others due to different routines, and classes. Seeking
information from other parents or students can cause you to be
misinformed and cause problems within the class or between individuals.
Your instructor is always your best resource, as it is their job to help
you.
Parent, Instructor &
Student Ethics: It must be understood that our job as parents
and instructors is to promote and encourage the student. This will
not be achieved by jealousy, rumors, hurt feelings or friction between
parents, instructors and students. Gossip is always harmful, and
the only way to stop it is not to participate. We want everyone's
experience to be positive, exciting and fun.
Insurance: Ironwood
Dance Company does not carry medical insurance for their students.
It is required that all students be covered by their own family
insurance policies. If injury occurs at practice or any
other type of studio event, it is understood that the students own
policy is your only source of reimbursement. All classes at IDC
require physical activity and involve risk. It is the parent's
responsibility to notify the studio in writing if any illness or
physical limitations the student has may prevent him or her from
participating in any type of class activity.
Photography Release: I hereby grant
absolute right and permission to take
photographic portraits or videos of my child/children for illustration, promotion
or advertising purposes such as brochures, websites, posters and other
promotional materials the studio creates. Permission is also
hereby granted for the studio to copyright such photographs in its name.
I have read,
understand and agree to comply with all Ironwood Dance Company's
policies. I understand that participation in this dance program is
voluntary and strenuous, and verify that I and/or my child/children are
physically fit to participate. I waive and release Ironwood Dance
Company Inc., Margaret Grachek, Instructors, their heirs and their
assigns from any and all rights and claims for injuries suffered or
medical expenses which may occur as a result in the participation in
this dance season.
